Pitter patter
pitter patter
do you hear that?
Drip drop
drip drop
what causes such pester?
Slowly I lift my head as teardrops fall onto my cheeks
tears that have been shed that I have ignored
pain I have suffered but not taken one second to think
what has happened?
Why am I here?
Have I been abandoned or shaken?
Am I wounded?
I know for sure of one thing
it hurts
my eyes burn from the weeping
remembering my past
flashbacks consume
not letting me go
letting me know that I am nothing
I was left alone
flashes of lightening pass by me
grabbing my attention
shouting
screaming at me
who I am
they tell me
I am not forgotten
I am loved
by someone greater
by God
who knows all things
he wipes my tears and says
“You are my child I will love you forever more”
