The Parent Crisis!

"Bye mom! I'm going to Bonnie's house! I'll see you tomorrow, okay?" Shouting over my shoulder as I shove myself and my bag out the door. As, I try to hurry down the apartment building hall I hear mom in the distance, "Okay! I love you!" Yes! I'm finally out of the house! Lying around your house all week, does not sit well with me! All of you social butterflies, Ya'll know what I'm talking about. after walking for about ten or so minutes, I finally reach Bonnie's apartment building. She greets me with a hug and smile, and leads me to her room. Sarcastically she asks "So tell me of all the fun you've had staying at home all week!" I muster up a smile and vent to her all I am annoyed at.

As teenagers, we tend to get really annoyed with out families. We want to be with our friends and at the mall or wherever. As long as it's not home, right? Well, let me tell you, although sometimes family can be aggravating, we tend to over react. Oh mom! You totally embarrased me in front of my friends, or mom! Why are you giving me all of these chores! My mama has told me so many times, "Meredith, God has given me a gift that I am to raise to serve Him. Therefore, giving chores and rules trains you to be a responsible adult." Omigosh! I absolutely love it when she tells me those words! Not only do I know that she loves me, but wants me to have a heart to serve the Lord.

So, when you are annoyed with your family and want to get out, remember that they love you and want only to raise you right!
